Welcome to our Senior Doe page!

2016 ENTIRE HERD TESTED NEGATIVE CAE, JOHNNES, and TB!

Son Rise Ranch Lychee

Birth Date: 3/12/06

Show Wins: 1 x Best Udder, 1 x 1st, 1 x 2nd

We are so please to have this doe back in our herd. We are very excited and a special thanks goes to Deena for allowing her to come back home!  We have always liked this doe even as a kid.  Probably the best "Tiki" kid born here at Son Rise Ranch.  She only improved as a second freshener and should continue to just get better and better as she matures just like her maternal sister Scarlett.  And not only does Lychee like to milk, she is the easiest Nigerian I have ever milked!  Welcome home Lychee!

Black, small splash in left side, blue eyes

"Jasmine" is a sweet, smaller 2013 senior doe.  Correct and balanced all the way around.  A little longer in body and shorter on leg than this photo shows. Nice and wide throughout without being extreme.  She comes from a consistent lines, including proof of the pudding udders.  Jasmine loves her walks and her scratches. Although I don't have an updated photo for you let me tell you Jasmine has an awesome udder!  Everything is where it should be, along with good laterals, and an excellent foreudder that stays smooth and extended no matter how full.  And she milks down to nothing. Lovely doe! Very similar in type, including udder, to her paternal half sister CH Castle Rock Lunar Eclipse.

Congratulations to Jasmines maternal half sister CH Castle Rock Flash Flood going ADGA Natl CH 2015 and Best Udder! And paternal half sister GCH CRF Castle Rock Black Ice 2*M 4*D going first place Aged Doe and Total Performer 2015 ADGA National Show!

Son Rise Ranch Out of the Blue

"Sky" is a very upright correct buckskin with white overlay, with blue eyes.  Momma delivered this one all by herself, her very first baby.  She looks a whole lot like her granddam; that is what we like to see.  Probably the most like her sire of all his kids in 2012, but at 6 months not as long bodied as he is nor as he was at this stage.  Since she was the most like him and his maternal line we chose to keep this sweet pea (although her dam "Twinkle" definitely came through also).

This is "Sky's" baby picture. Isn't she adorable?

Dam:  Kaapio Acres Ja'Makin Sun

DS: Rosasharn SP Jamaica  DD: Son Rise Ranch Lychee (see doe at top of page)

Lovely first freshening udder!  Everything you'd want...good extended foreudder, smooth blended fore, easy to milk, good over all attachments including nice lateral attachments, milked down to almost nothing like her dam.  Just an over all really nice udder you'd like to see in all your first fresheners.  However, trying to take photos of a black goat that thinks any camera is a "boogy-man" is impossible!

Rosasharn has retained a maternal half brother of Kandi for one of their herds sires
Kandi is one of our personal favorites.  Temperament typical of this doe line.  I can put her on a leash and take her anywhere; babies have the same temperament.  A dairy, smoothly blended balanced and elegant doe, reminding me so much of what her dam was like when she was a younger doe.  She also has one of the best eschuseuns in the herd--really. Her first freshening udder was more like something you would see on a second or even a third freshening milker.  Not only does she want to milk, she is easy to milk! Her easy going temperament had made it for an almost no training from the beginning...no push for milk or milking but she just keeps surprising us!

Yard shots, not the best, she'd rather be in your face!
First freshener, first month  Four months into 1st lactation
2nd freshening, 1 mo; winter clip

Third freshening udder:    Milked through the winter very nicely!

Sunshine, as we know her here, is a very stylish dairy doe.   Jamaica's dam is a doe kid that we begged to purchase at the 2003 AGS Nat'l show.  Penny resides happily, still, at Rosasharn.  We are thankful to have not only a Lychee daughter, but a Pensylvania granddaughter!
Sunshine's udder immediately before freshening (less than 3 hrs); sorry she would NOT let me get behind her to get rear udder shots!
Second freshening udder:  A very easy milker.

This is udder only has 8 hours of milk!  Holding nearly a quart of milk!
